Many people don’t understand the need for 600W ballasts when 1000W units are not much more expensive. Those people aren’t commercial growers. 400 Watts is 40% less power then 1000 Watts, so if your plants don’t need the extra oomph of a 1KW ballast you’re either wasting your money or actually making things worse by light-saturating your canopy and harming your yields. This is why a 600W Ballast was vital for TONKA, as we believe in using the right tool for the right job.

The Hard Core® LEC® Ballast is optimized for cutting edge Light Emitting Ceramic® brand technology.

Exposed ballast design is compact and runs cool! Offers superior cooling capabilities extending the longevity of the capacitor and ignitor. Dual universal lamp cord receptacle is compatible with all Sun System® brand LEC® remote reflectors as well as other branded reflectors.

Dual power inputs easily switch voltage from 120 to 240-volt power.

Powder-coated steel housing with louvered venting and solid design helps protect internal components. Rubber feet reduce noise and vibration. Excellent ballast quality with high temp 150° C wire connections will provide years of trouble-free operation. Removable stainless steel handles allow easy handling.

We’ve simplified the Flip technology by incorporating it into our Flip Series ballast.

This technology allows the user to run two separate lights on an alternating 12/12 cycle.

Like all of our ballasts, the Flip Series comes with Random Start technology.

Random Start uses an algorithm that will start the ballast within a 0‐15
second window.

This allows for less initial power draw when using multiple ballasts.

Cali Ballast is a 1000 watt grow light ballast is a dimmable ballast, which allows you to reduce your output voltage from 100% to either 75% or 50%.

This feature is great because you can run either a 1000 watt, 600 watts, or 400-watt lamp with this ballast with either an HPS or Metal Halide bulb.

Although many growers will use this feature to reduce the output of their 1000 watt bulbs, we do not recommend this because if you perform this function, your lamp life will be considerably reduced.

It’s always better to purchase appropriate wattage lamps, either metal halide or high-pressure sodium to use with the dimmed ballast.

This means you will use a 1000 watt lamp at 100%, a 600-watt lamp at 75% strength, and a 400-watt lamp at 50% strength.

Set the desired percentage on your ballast and then use the appropriate wattage lamp.
